One evening on a solo wilderness retreat, I remember feeling especially grateful while watching the sunset from the safety of my beachfront camp after a particularly challenging day. I wanted to paint with that feeling of awe and gratitude. While working on this piece I was noticing just how dramatic the Autumn skies are. I love their expansive, shifting and undefinable nature. It’s humbling to try to paint that.
